Dettifoss and the Icelandic desert

Dettifoss is one of the mightiest waterfall in Iceland and in Europe (193 cubic metres of water per second!). It is located on the Jokulsa river, feed by the Vatnajokul glacier. The river flows in the rain shadow of the glacier and thus in a glacial desert.
