The Narita san temple is a big pilgrimage center.
It is located in the city of Narita (near Tokyo; Narita is the city of Tokyo's international airport), in Chiba prefecture, Japan.

At the foot of the statut one can see straw shoes offered by the pilgrims to thank the gods of travel for their protection during the pilgrimage.
