Go shiki numa (5 colors lakes), Bandai-san, Fukushima prefecture, Japan
Pictures taken on 7 VIII 2004.
After Bandai-san's eruption in 1888 a marsh was formed by the wtaer block by the lava. The lakes of this marsh took many different colors due to the elements in the lava.
This area is now know as Go shiki numa (5 colors pond). It is a pleasant 3km stroll near Bandai-san (seen in background of some of these pictures).
