| Matsuri are Japanese festivals organized at the end of the summer to wake up from the heat's torpor before the harvests.
During the matsuri people carry mikoshi (portable shrines) and floats in the streets. These pictures (featuring mainly floats) were taken during the Tsukuba Matsuri in Tsukuba, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan on August 28th 2004 |
